Not sure if this is good what I found but I sure have enjoyed it. I think its cool to be able to find silver even if its not worth alot. I am half way through box and wanted to show what I found so far. Any of the other halves worth anything besides the silver halves?

Any silver is better than no silver - that's a lot more 90%ers than I ever found. Personally, I took the opportunity to put together a set of halves - aside from former slot machine coins, most halves in any box are lightly circulated, if at all. If a set interests you, I would certainly keep all proofs and coins after 2001 - they are not worth much, but you will appreciate how much further your collection budget will go when buying at face! There are also some dates where the FG is missing on the reverse, and some of our members have found underweight halves struck on quarter stock. I believe '74 has a DDO that is worth a non-negligible premium.

Thanks Finn, I am actually surprised at how circulated the regular halves are. Haven't fouind any yet that are AU/BU. 3 of those 1964's are AU/BU--very nice they are. I will post when done with whole box-hope to have several more!

Finished the box! Wow, that was fun and cool. Found a lot more than expected. Sry the pic is not great. In case you can't tell in the pic, I got 10 1964's-most were BU. 4-1967's, 1-1965(nice one), 1-1966, 2-1967's(one nice one), 3-1968's-all nice, 2-1969's-both nice and 4 proofs. Ready for the next box--problem is that I got that up north-will have to go back there on next business trip.

Excellent first box these are definitely not normal to find this much silver however if you can buy another box from the same bank as this box likely has a twin

That is an excellent haul!
I miss searching through half dollar rolls. Now that my bank only accepts wrapped coins it's not really worth the effort anymore.

At today's melt price, that's $80.50 net profit for this little mining adventure. A vein that any hard-rock silver/copper miner would love to get into!
