I brought a half penny set a while ago and just decided to check them out with my microscope and what I found made me wonder if they were ever checked before,a 1928 with a die crack under the date,a 1946 with what looks to be die cracks on the reverse and a 1926 with a double from "IND" running under the date to "V".
Sorry no photo's as the site wont let me lodge photo's with BMP at the end and I don't know how to correct it,I'm interested if any one else has come across this on the 1926 half penny.
thanks and regards
Harry

I'll have to use a camera for JPG and it won't be as good a photo as the microscope can produce, I do have photo's from the microscope but none with JPG.
cheers Harry

Hi Harry, heaps of free programmes/apps that will convert to JPG,just do a Google.
I use Irfanview to resize and/or convert images, its free and great.

Edit..Harry you can change how the Photo is stored in the Software of the USB Microscope.

Fortunately for us error/variety enthusiasts there are still a lot of dealers and collectors who do not appreciate die cracks, doubling, etc. etc. They consider them faulty and not worthy, and only suitable to be hidden in sets or bulk lots.

The coin is a DDO - double die obverse.
A nice variety.

You can save the BMP as a JPG with any image program such as paint.
No need to take pics of your computer screen.
