For the UK this does not count the various £5 coins are being made for this year which I already have three of and at least three more to come out.

There are about 11 2017 UK releases that I have yet to see in circulation.

Is anyone else feeling that the mints are overloading the average collector will all of the coin offerings each year?
Rest in Peace

For US, if you are looking to be complete, you would also need all the bullion issues and the "collector" issues of same, plus the commemorative issues. That would add a few dozen more

It is a good thing that I stopped collecting the new UK coins a few years ago. It is a good thing that they don't use mint marks.

Two years ago you needed six more US coins and three years ago you needed eight more from the now completed Presidential dollar program.

- with reference to UK coins!

The only 2017 UK coins that I've found in circulation so far are the 1p, 50p Royal Shield, 50p Tale of Peter Rabbit and £1. I have yet to find a 2016 Shakespeare's Comedy £2 either, despite regularly searching through bags of £2 coins obtained from the bank.

Regarding UK coins I fully agree. It's way too much.

Unfortunately, it's a trend that's going on with many mints these days.

The Royal Mint has just announced ANOTHER commemorative £2 coin, for the centenary of the Armistice!

https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins...edfort-Coin/

No doubt there will be a Treaty of Versailles centenary coin next year!

I feel a bit guilty that our own Royal Canadian Mint seems to have been one of the leaders in issuing excess numbers of commemorative circulating coins, starting with 14 in 1992. Then there were 24 during 1999-2000. At least those were issued in large numbers and were relatively easy to find in circulation. Oddly enough, now that so many other mints have jumped on this horse, ours seems to be stopping. I liked having 1-2 per year, but enough is enough.

You are referring to another thread (see: http://goccf.com/t/307258&whichpage=1) where it was said that the current canadian government refused to allow minting of circulation commemoratives for 2018?
If I were on facebook or twitter (which I am not) I would ask the RCM directly if this is true. I guess, it's entirely possible. However, I find it very hard to believe the RCM or the canadian government would refuse to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice.

By the way, the above mentioned £2 is on Kena's list.
