I've been putting off filing as long as I could because I thought I owed but instead found out today I'll be getting back a pretty good check.

After I pay the balance on my CC (not much) and an outstanding dental bill (too much), I'll definitely be looking to add to my collection.

Anybody else planning to buy coins or bullion with their refunds, if you're so lucky, that is?

I'm taking a bit of a break, at least that's what I'm telling myself. What refund I got already went to a new TV (not my idea, but there you go).

My type set has gone back far enough that it's getting harder to find the pieces I really want so I'm shifting my focus towards tokens and modern silver, which is easier on the wallet.

I sent the IRS a postcard this year. I'm not getting any money back.

I definitely spent some of my refund on coins. I treated myself to something that I might not otherwise buy. 2017 British Indian Ocean Territory 2 pounds titanium.

Tax man was very good this year. I think, after paying down CC's, I will look into a set of Silver Eagles. I've never collected those, but maybe I will start.

I'm finding the 5 oz silver ATB Quarters to be an interesting mint coin, too, Sagegirl.

Not a fan of those big 5 oz coins, I have one of the 5 oz SAC dollars, and a 4 ounce 100 dollar bar, they sit in the back of the safe collecting dust. Now if I really had the money what I would go for, after gold of course, are the reverse proof ASE, I think those are some real eye candy. I like them better than the ultra cameos.

Don't think this is exactly what you mean but it's a beauty. I picked it up last year.

The tax man is taking my money this year so I better hide my coin collection. Good thing I spent my extra money before Tax day on some new coin albums.

I will be using part of my refund tomorrow at the local coin show. I am hoping to get a 2018 ASE, but will look around at other stuff.

Of course, I might take a few extras to sell.

We always have to send in a check. And I am always prepared
but this year the check we need to mail is a few hundred less
than it has been in the past. So yes, I will be funneling
some of the extra dollars into the coin piggy bank.

Although I have to send a check for $3k, I've still been buying lots of '64 Kennedys lately, my favorite.

No, I am using it to replenish accounts drained by two kids in college...
