I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be seeing, save for a bit of MD on the 1 in 1788.

thank you, but I am talking about extra thick letters on obverse that you do not usually see on the 2000 quarters.

The incuse devices are on the ATB Quarter series on the reverses. This coin looked promising, by nothing listed on Variety Vista for this year (era)

Probably just altered by contact damage. Most of the doubling on the single squeeze quarters is on the earlobes.

Just checked the shape of the States quarter Obverse devices, they are normal looking like that.

Looks like Die Deterioration Doubling to me.

Die flow and the doubling isn't in a single direction like most DDOs, the letter are just thicker instead of the smeared one-directional movement like on DDs.

Die Deterioration Doubling would affect the devices that are closest to the edge of the coins.
