looks g4. may be cleaned, but these coins get some leeway on cleaning.
no call on authenticity but it doesn't look obviously fake.
please weigh it and record the diameter of the coin. that would rule out a lot of fakes if it matches but wouldn't be definitive.
should weigh ~26.96 grams and be 39-40mm in diameter.

Thanks for your reply.
It weighs 27g (using a food scale w/ no decimal pts) and is exactly 40 mm in diameter.

I went to the bust dollar attribution wizard here http://www.earlydollars.org/wizarddate3.htm) and went through the various markers for this coin. I was able to attibute the die pair variety as: BB-117, B-33. R-7. Note that the R-7 means that the rarity rating for this coin is Rarity 7 which means it is a very rare variety. R7 would indicate that 4-12 coins of this variety exist. I would encourage others to independently validate my attribution. If this is the BB-117, this coin could be very valuable. I will let other experts weigh in.

Thanks so much for your insight. Here are a couple more pictures in different lighting in case it is helpful. Still trying to learn the best way to snap and post these photos, so thanks for bearing with me.

new pictures make it look obv: vg8, rev: g4.
i like the color and patina of this coin. you will likely have to submit this to PCGS to get a definitive validation of authenticity, but I think it is worth submitting. You should wait for other experts in this series to chime in. Congrats, it looks like a beautiful coin.

Looks legitimate to me. Appears to be a B-25, BB-123 to me, but I'm not 100% sure.
I'd send this to PCGS, NGC, or ANACS to get a definite opinion on authenticity and grade, but about G-6 IMO.

Not an expert, but I don't see any obvious concerns. I'd say G-4. Based on the position of the 8, this doesn't look like BB-117.

Looks genuine, looks like it has possible light environmental damage and Good+ seems about right. The second set of pics make it look like a nice, genuine early American Silver Dollar.

I have no idea what the Weight Tolerance (remedy allowance) should be for these. Listed weight is 26.96 grams. For this coin, weight allowance downwards for wear (thus weight loss), perhaps ~ 5%-7%. 25.25 grams + or - remedy allowance should be around the weight that this coin needs to be. Accurate density test is justifiable. Density of .8920 fine silver (copper added) is 10.33 Grams / cc. XRF test is valid in this case, and is also justifiable. As stated above, diameter should be 39-40 mm.
