hello to everyone, i was searching through my penny rolls when I come across this (see pics) 2013 Lincoln Shield Penny with what looks likes the "ONE CENT"ribbon continues through itself.   any help would be appreciated, thanks mike

@ME999, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes, that right-hand part of the ONE CENT banner does look pretty interesting. I agree with @john1 that it most likely is a trapped gas bubble forcing the copper plating up off of the zinc core.

Ether it is trapped gas under plating issue, which would push down with a toothpick. Or, a die scratch that will not push down with a toothpick. Depends on what happens when your testing that area.

Ok class: How long will coins be showing this die event with the scratch across every other stripe on the coins with this die? A. This is the only one? B. Till the next die polishing? C. Until the die is retired D. Until the scratch flattens during die wear?

The die was already polished and couldn't remove it because it is lower than the field. Probably the scratch would flatten in time, but may survive. watch for these in circulation.
