I am new to coin hunting, and also have trouble identifying correct doubling. I was looking through Wexler's guide, and thought this 1982 Lincoln Penny looked pretty similar. What are your thoughts? Thanks

Over polished die, note how "thin" the letters appear. This is because the dies surface was removed making devices more shallow. When devices become thicker, grease and othercrud has clogged those devices. Thee are normal, no doubling or MD striking movements.

Yes, I agree with @crazb0 on this--I don't see any doubling whatsoever. I'd recommend going back through several days worth of posts here on CCF to familiarize yourself with the different types of doubling and what they look like. You should be able to find some minor MD reasonably easily.

Keep in mind that different years of coins can have larger or smaller devices on the same year series.1982 cents have large and small devices on the obverse. The reverses are the same size for all of them. So you can't compare with what the devices size is on the other side of the coin. Also if the coin has been in circulation for a time, then the devices may wear or flatten with time. But looking at your coin, the devices look normal in size to me. No spread on the devices that I can see. Sorry.
