Huh, that's unusual for a Two Cent Piece. This is what happens when a coin is lost in a commercial dryer for an extended period of time. How an 1867 Two Cent Piece ended up in one is beyond me. I believe this can also happen if the coin is carefully hit with a spoon or a similar object evenly around the edge many times. That may be more likely than a dryer for a coin this old. EDIT: Are you sure the weight is correct? 5.1 g is far too low for a 2 cent piece (6.22 g), but far too high for a cent (3.11 g).

I wish I could help you out, Jairo. But errors aren't my thing. I think you will get a better response if admins move this post to an errors section.

Not an error. Looks intentional to me. John1

Spooned or dryer. Not a mint error although I can see why you would ask.

If that is the weight, it does not have any bumps on the edge, it would be a good idea to send it to examine PCGS.

It would be a waste of money to send it to a TPG,IMHO. John1

That might even be a bezel on the coin.

It's a Dryer Coin or spooned. Definitely PMD. Quote: If that is the weight, it does not have any bumps on the edge, it would be a good idea to send it to examine PCGS. It's 100% PMD. (Post Mint Damage) Why have PCGS look at it?

I agree I've seen a few of these in the Two Cent series, as I have a lot of dealers looking at weird varieties for me, my specialty for over 20 years now. It's a Dryer Coin, sending in to a TPG would be a waste of money.
