p912 New Member United States 6 Posts	Posted 04/25/2018 5:39 pm Hey thanks in advance for your help... This coin that I purchased sounds like silver - but the edge looks to have evidence of casting? I need a second opinion on this - not all the edges have it just 3 of them... At first I thought it could be uneven cutting from a pair of shears , but I'm very suspicious - it is 6.8 grams , perhaps cast out of something that still gives a ring like coppernickel? , thanks for your opinions Edited by p912 04/25/2018 5:41 pm Report this Post to the Staff

thq Pillar of the Community United States 3344 Posts	Posted 04/25/2018 8:50 pm The weight looks right for 2R, and the random cut edge appearance is similar to other Seville cobs ca 1600-1650, not a casting line IMO.
