If you've always been a believer in time machines, alternate history, or conspiracy theories, here's a coin for you from our friends on the Bay. They call it a "fantasy", but you never know, the truth may be out there! Hey, I was told that mine was 1 of a kind and worth millions and I thought I got a great deal. I guess mine is only worth a few million now instead of many millions.

How did they know there was going to be a "United States of America" seven years before the Declaration of Independence?

Well the secret is out now. Paul Revere, the famed silversmith and midnight rider made this prototype when he was about 35 years old. Since the United States and the Philadelphia Mint did not yet exist, the design was shelved until after the great war. (I guess the Revolutionary War was not great enough.)

The guy who designed the statue of liberty obviously based his design off this coin. It's prob the reason they decided to use the bald eagle as our national bird years later as well.
