See below similarly chopped image from Numista for comparison: With the current pic, I can't quite tell if these normal features have been exaggerated on the OP's coin, but perhaps. I'm just curious...I'm not an expert but that reminds me of paint used on certain metals to prevent rust..cant recall whats its called at the moment..or a powder coat. sand/bead blasted? maybe its a different metal...weigh it?
