Help Identifying Large Silver Arabic/Middle Eastern Coin, Id: 1306h 5000 Dinar

I learned from the en.numista.com website there are 4 different 1927's: 1. no mint mark, 2. proof, 3. Heaton (H) mint mark, 4. Leningrad (L) mint mark. My coin has the H mint mark I believe. I find that very interesting as I have never seen or heard of a coin that would have been minted at Heaton and Leningrad. I plan on selling the coin, and would like to get maximum value, but unfortunately there are some shipping restrictions which currently limit my potential audience quite a bit. I wonder what mintage figures are? Time to dig in for some research. Thank you all for the awesome effort. It is much appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

I find zero info on a "Huyton mint". Also the coin appears to have been "cast". Report this Post to the Staff

bjherbison Valued Member United States 257 Posts	Posted 05/03/2018 07:18 am The "Huyton" is probably an error. Elsewhere on the Numista page and in Krause the mint is identified as Heaton. Krause gives the Heaton mintage as 4,711,000. But if your coin is cast than it is a fake. Report this Post to the Staff

This type is probably the most common of all Persian crowns and therefore not very expensive. I have about a dozen of them from different dates and mints, and for the best one, uncirculated piece from Leningrad mint I paid around 30 dollars if I remember correctly.
