I believe the date is SH 1304 (1925), the denomination is 5000 Dinar, and it maybe from Iran.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Yes to Iran, yes to 5000 dinar, and no to 1304. While that date is on the coin, that is just part of the inscription. The actual date of 1306 is below the bust, which is around 1927 in the Gregorian calendar.

Here are a few that have sold on ebay recently, in case you want to sell it.

I think yours is as good or better than all the ones listed in the link.

Thank you all. I learned from the en.numista.com website there are 4 different 1927's: 1. no mint mark, 2. proof, 3. Heaton (H) mint mark, 4. Leningrad (L) mint mark. My coin has the H mint mark I believe.

I find that very interesting as I have never seen or heard of a coin that would have been minted at Heaton and Leningrad.

I plan on selling the coin, and would like to get maximum value, but unfortunately there are some shipping restrictions which currently limit my potential audience quite a bit.

I wonder what mintage figures are? Time to dig in for some research.

Thank you all for the awesome effort. It is much appreciated.

Correction- according to en.numista.com my coin is not Heaton but has the letter "H" under the ribbon (Huyton mint).

I find zero info on a "Huyton mint".

Also the coin appears to have been "cast".

The "Huyton" is probably an error. Elsewhere on the Numista page and in Krause the mint is identified as Heaton.

Krause gives the Heaton mintage as 4,711,000.

But if your coin is cast than it is a fake.

yes that is a Heaton mint and doesn't seem cast or fake. This type is probably the most common of all Persian crowns and therefore not very expensive. I have about a dozen of them from different dates and mints, and for the best one, uncirculated piece from Leningrad mint I paid around 30 dollars if I remember correctly.
