Thanks for the image. It looks like someone pour some copper soldier pm the coin. The weigh should tell you that is is heavier than normal. (You probably could tell the difference just holding two coins. one normal, and this one)

My first thought was a possible coin or coins used in a fuse box.
Might check weight to confirm or eliminate foreign object matter. I believe an added foreign material would add weight. Thanks, Doug.

Soak it in acetone overnight, if its not added metal, it will com off, super glue or some kind that reacted s bit with the copper.

Seems like it would be a lot heavier than that?

Could a very hot, small-tip torch do that?

To me it looks like a drip of something onto the coin.

While the reverse is obviously distorted. My attention is also drawn too the obverse. I think I see a circular indent to the lower bust shoulder. Close to where a contact point could be in some older fuse boxes. Thanks, Doug.

As a former electrician, yep, HALO1st nailed it. The reverse side was against the hot post. Too much current was being drawn and the copper would have melted and "oozed" in that manner...wonder if the house fuse panel it came out of was still standing?

I can see it. We moved into a 1920's era house back in 1981. The fuse box was filled with cents. Not a single intact fuse in the whole thing.
