Hi. Way new but way strung out on these coins. Lots of questions but ill start with this. Wondering if the word "in" is just normal Wear. Looks funky

Could be a die chip on "IN". Also might be a very slight off-center strike.

It looks like a very well placed hit moved the metal, PMD is my guess.

It's just really worn from circulation damage.

Keep in mind the number of vending machine and casino machine these coins can be used in. That also damages them. So the coin may have started out normal, but life alters all of us a little, as time goes by.

Exactly, but I can never really get my mind wrapped around the fact when someone posts a cent like this and everyone comes back and say Dryer Coin! How many time do cents go through vending machines or slot machines? Or for that matter, a cent tumbling around inside a dryer drum?

The dryers we are thinking of is the commercial ones. They are very large. The coins in them drop down a long ways. So no wonder the edges get rolled over so much.
