Hi all! I am glad that I came across your site. Looks nice! I do have a question tho- I purchased a supposedly unopened roll of Morgan dollars. The ends are a CC and the other is 1889. Should I open this and see whats inside or just keep it in its tightly rolled "The Bullion and Exchange Bank of Carson City, Nevada" wrapper? I would appreciate any thoughts on this. Thank you for your time.

It's up to you, but I would carefully open it, and inspect your property. Then properly store the coins. Paper rolls don't do much for me. Put the empty roll on ebay and see what happens.

The first result of a search for that bank name turned up that it is probably a loaded roll (not original), with best coins on the end. I hope you didn't pay too much for the roll.

I thank you for your responses. I did a little more research (which I should of in the first place) and I'm just going to return them. It was off of ebay in a bidding war with over 160 bids. I paid $2000. Again, Thank you!

wish everyone would break the news to you....but you got duped. There is a thing going on where people sell supposed unopened morgan rolls. There are no unopened morgan rolls. I would return these things. There are tons of posts here and on the PCGS forum about these "unopened rolls"

Ugh. Hope the ebay Gods dish out proper karma to the those who screw others. Wish I was welcoming you to the Forum under different circumstances. Welcome nonetheless though.

Wish I had the ability to post this image on ebay listings like the one the OP got taken on, may save a lot of folks from getting took. What is sad is all those who are too embarrassed to admit being fooled and do nothing, just accept it, stupid...and sad.

So...Update! I had to open to see. LoL They're all beautiful coins. Not a one has been in general circulation. No proofs of course. I came across (2) 1884cc Here's a break down 1879s, 1880s, (3)1881s, (2)1882s, 1884o, 1887, (2)1888, 1890, (2)1898o, (2)1900o, 1904o, 1889
Again, I Thank you all and appreciate your words of wisdom

Thor, just one more caution. Check this thread: http://goccf.com/t/119357The Chinese have been making many, many Morgans for quite a few years. Read the thread all the way through as there are some pics through it for help. I am hoping yours are legit. If you want, post some pics and we can help.
