Coinstar returns are good .I actually liked the returns from the penny arcade before TD Bank shut them down . The bulk of the returns used to get caught deep into the return tube . Many people didn't know this . One time I dug out 11 coins including silver .

It only got rejected because the weight is off. A normal War Nickel will weigh the same as the copper-nickel ones and thus will be accepted. To date, I have found exactly one War Nickel out of a Coinstar, and it looks very similar. I think it was a 1944-D, but I'll have to double check.
