I know it's MD and it's loaded with it but looks like a notch at the tail of the "S" . Gonna guess word die with that. Any ideas?

It does look like a notch. And it is interesting that the device(s?) is shifted inward. Don't they usually shift toward the rim with a LDS? Are they all shifted the same way? I'm asking because I don't know, not because I'm suggesting something.

Can you post a few pictures of other areas & the whole coin?
