Humorous, yes, realistic, yes also. As long as the mark has not affected the other parts of the design it is considered OK.

Error punches or slipped nicking was usually repaired by milling down/polishing the affected areas if at all possible, otherwise would be abandoned and not used.

Remember too, clothing and other accoutrements may hang a bit low when filled with the S's

The mint marks were punched by hand onto the dies, not onto the coins.
