Not sure what those terms mean exactly. Like the luster, I think.

Term means Brilliant Uncirculated. It should shine and rotate if you move it in the light.

Thanks. What do you think of this coin? Is it worth an MS 63? Or is that el stupido?

Quote: Is it worth an MS 63? Or is that el stupido? Much better than that. Could go -66. Close to a full hand and head. Nice strike for the date. But if there's a slight rub that will put it at AU-58.

That seems so harsh. So a slight rub makes it go from $150 to $35?

There's an area on her upper thigh which is a little worn, I'd bet.

I'd give the coin a solid 63.

Quote: hat seems so harsh. So a slight rub makes it go from $150 to $35? Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your viewpoint), yes. A high end AU-58 coin will often look much nicer than a lower end MS coin (MS-62 for example). If a coin leaves the mint/bank bag/original bank roll in a MS-65 grade, and gets circulated enough to have a small rub on it to break luster while receiving no dings/scratches/hits at all, it jumps down to AU-58. That rub could have even happened while owned by a collector...and be referred to as a slider. You can assemble a fantastic looking collection and save a lot of money by targeting AU coins with great eye appeal and few hits/dings/scratches.

Recently been looking more seriously at completing my set of these and having a new appreciation for the design I always liked best anyway.
Yours is stunning! My thoughts were MS64 at the start also if the cartwheel luster rotates full through all devices as the coin is rotated.
Man I wish the mint had artists nowadays as talented as AW was!

steve199 - has it right.
Would need to see in hand.
WLH and Buff's are, in my humble opinion, the toughest series to grade, across the date ranges. Tough.
This particular WLH has luster breaks on the obverse and reverse, north to south.
Might even be some light ticks at the hand/forearm (I zoomed 250%).
