*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

Just pulled this out of a roll of pennies. It has all the attributes of a small date penny. Weighs 3.1 grams. The 1 and 2 line up, and the 8 is oblong.

Is this a score?

Please give me some good news.

If so, let me know what to do.

Small date. 3.11 grams = copper 2.5 grams = zinc.

It looks like a small date but the one you want to find is the 1982 copper from the Denver Mint...not Philadelphia.
Unless of coarse you are looking for the 82' copper small date. In that case...Nice Find.

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.
