HSN is now selling a pair of 2008 2007 Reverse Error ASE coins for around 1900 dollars. (or 850 a coin) Does anyone here ever buy anything from HSN? I've never seen anything from them that wasn't either A. Extremely overpriced B. Extremely common and overpriced.. or C. Dipped in gold and overpriced It's like they have this big warehouse full of nice proof coins and they've decided to make a game out of which HSN employee can plate them all in gold the fastest. And how about those two mokes that try and sell the product. 'This is the best price I've ever done, This is the best price I have ever seen, I can't do this forever, I only 1100 sets and they are flying off the shelves' Who are these 1100 people paying 500 percent over book value for this stuff? 'These 50 State Quarters came directly from the mint. We pulled them off the truck, and immediately dipped them in a giant pot of boiling 24 karat gold. We all know what the price of gold is doing! If you want to get in on these before gold skyrockets to $15,000 and ounce then tonight is your chance' IDIOTS! Alright I'm done oh and don't forget the autoship option!

The problem is people keep buying them. I'm guessing their target audience is older retired people who buy a lot of their stuff to pass down to their children & grand children. I watch the HSN coin shows quit often just for a good laugh and hear the sales pitch they come up with. The heavy one,Alan can barely keep a straight face. He always has a smirk. I emailed him one time and asked if he had any trouble sleeping at night but I never received an answer. I also had an account with HSN for other things I have purchased through them. I called and closed the account and told them very clearly it was because of the coin show ripoffs. If you check any coins they have for sale are usually marked up 50% of market value.

I agree with everyone. HSN is a rip off. However, I did buy a complete set of Peace dollars in 2001 from a different home shopping network. Its the only thing I've ever bought from one of these companies. It was late at night, been working all day, and had a few too many. At the time I probably paid too much, but now the 1928 is worth almost what I paid for the set. BUT, that was 7 years ago. Silver was probably at $5.00 or so. mfhorn

Ah, the "Coin Vault" guys? They aim straight for the jugular of the collector mania. The fraud/greed/cynicism is so thick I choke every time I watch--just to observe the worst kind of marketing/sales tactics.

That Mike guy is atleast knowledgeable. That Alan guy is pretty much there to hold coins and sound like an idiot. He once tried to convince the audience to start a coin collection... I wonder who he thought his audience was? Then he claimed gold-plated coins were the best thing since sliced bread because "we all know what the price of gold is doing." His comments do provide comic relief I guess. Maybe he can't hold in how much they're ripping people off.

I wonder if the guys that work there get a company discount on their products and only pay 20 times what something is worth versus the normal 40 times what all the old ladies that watch that channel normally pay.

They will have to answer for their actions one day. If you believe in such things you have to believe the direction they head will not be up.
