When I go to PMG website, I still don't get what my total would be?
For example, if I wanted to have 50 consecutive modern notes graded, how would that be calculated? Handling Fee : $08 Per submission? $8X1? Tier Bulk Consecutive Fee: 12 Per Note? $12X50? Other Charges: ?
Your clarification will be greatly appreciated!

The least expensive I see is Bulk Consecutive @ $12 each, minimum 50 notes.
What do you have in mind ?

Hi Steve, That's what I thought. Couldn't find a phone # to contact them and confirm. Actually, I was kicking around sending 2 or 3 notes for grading. I received a strap from the bank of nearly all sequential numbers and I'm curious about them. Also, I've got to learn somehow.
A penny for your thoughts!

Have you tried calling PMG? Or posting this question on the PMG board?

Tell us a bit more about the notes you're thinking of spending this kind of money on.

O.K. I recently bought 2 straps of $2 bills from the bank to look thru. They are not directly BEP but, are crisp and consist mostly of consecutive numbers. I thought I might take a couple from the longest sequential runs and have them graded. What would you advise? I certainly can't add nearly $400 of $2 bills to my collection without knowing if they hold more than face value and by the same token, I don't want to return them to the bank not knowing if I should keep them, or not! It's a pickle!

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a series, or serial number that merit the added expense of grading. There is the grading charge, and you have to be a member to submit, or a paid member of the ANA. You also pay shipping there and back. Please help me, I don't understand.

Also, there's a bunch of 1976 notes and they are in much better condition than the ones I had saved so, I've replaced my old 1976's with these! I love $2 notes but, not enough to have $300+ of them! If you tell me to take them back I will be fine with that. I'll go through and pull any fancy #'s, etc. and be content.

Steve, I'm fine with that! Your experienced opinion is what I've needed! Thank you! Where might I find the resources to learn what series or serial numbers that may merit grading a banknote?

However, IMHO this is something you have determine yourself by first figuring out why you would want the notes graded. Only then can you decide if the expense of grading is worthwhile to you. There are many collectors who are very happy not to have any graded notes. There are others who have only graded notes. Others still have both. It's really up to you. Also, as is said many different ways in many different places, grading is an art and not a science. Different "experts" can and sometimes do have differing opinions as to the grade of a note. If you decide to send any notes to PMG for grading, then don't be too surprised if one or more don't come back with the grade you thought/hoped they would.

Thanks for providing this info, BadDog. I've listed the banknotes on ebay with an "OBO" option. What's left will be going back to the bank to purchase something else to peruse! Yea, a decision has been made!! Thanks to everyone for your input. I've learned a lot already!

Good decision on your part. No likely upside to having this sort of thing professionally graded.
