I picked up this off-center ancient coin from a dealer's junk box ages ago. However, I've never been able to ID it. I don't believe it to be an ancient Roman or Greek piece. Could it be a Celtic or Indian coin?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

My first impression is a clipped Byzantine half folles, Not enough detail to say who, though it doesn't appear to be the early bust type.

echizento - Thanks! I was wondering if it were Byzantine. However, is it possible that it's a smaller denomination? Although clipped, it is only about 15mm in diameter.

Glad you were able to find it. I was thinking a half folles, at least I was in the right ball park.

Great teamwork Ron and @arnoldoe! While a bit extreme in this example, I have found the Byzantines to be somewhat careless in the workmanship of their minting practices.

Their bronze coins struck on a high standard unlike their gold and silver coins with were much better in detail and strike.
