Found in a collection of old (1800s) foreign coins. I have looked for 2 days trying to identify these two coins but having no luck. They have a luster and patina and I can't see any casting lines on the edges or bubbles in the fields. I know there is a lot of touristy coinage out there just not sure how to figure this out . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Both are genuine, The first one is a tetradrachm of I believe Probus and the other is a memorial coin of Constantine. They both appear to have bronze disease and need to be treated. This will help with that: http://forumancientcoins.com/Articl..._Disease.htm

First is an Alexandrian tetradrachm of Probus, Year 4, 280 AD. It's in decent shape and should be worth at least $15-20.

Second is a posthumous commemorative of Constantine, showing him in a quadriga reaching up to the Hand of God. It is in excellent condition and is worth a decent bit - most are struck on small flans with incomplete legends. Generally these are common in lots and only worth a dollar or two, but I would imagine this would easily fetch $25+ on ebay.

Thank you very much echiziento and Finn235 I appreciate the sharing of knowledge from you both. Most of these I find are tourist fakes, it's nice to get the real thing for a change! Echizento will cleaning the coins hurt the value like it does on modern coinage?

Cleaning harshly will, but the problem is that if you leave bronze disease unchecked, it will fully consume this coin and any other copper coin that it comes into contact with. Following those directions should halt the damage and prevent these from "infecting" your other coins.
