Looks like that poor guy has a Lot of bag marks. We would need some clearer pictures though to give a more accurate grade

AU details, but those marks are very pronounced.

The bag marks are noticeable but not really all that severe. The fact that they are in "prime focal" areas (Liberty's chin and in the field in front of her face) is unfortunate. This is a common-date eagle. If you were looking for a nice example for type you could hunt down a coin with better eye appeal and less-conspicuous bagmarks. You could perhaps trade this one plus a few dollars to close the deal.

The photo (scan?) doesn't show the luster but based on the color difference around the letters and stars I presume there is still significant luster remaining in the protected areas. I'd guess the grade as AU-50 or AU-53.
