The bottom of the hair is stamped in the bottom of the coin. Line through the 7 and some letters. Part of the N stamped on edge as well.

Not even off centered? I keep looking at it comparing it to another old coin and one is not like the other. Not arguing cause I know nothing about this stuff...

@RBA2016, it is perfectly fine to push back a little if you want clarification or feel like we didn't fully address your question. Are you talking about the linear feature that starts at the rim below the mint mark and then ends at the bottom of the hair? That looks like a scratch to me--you can see where the rim has been slightly damaged.

The edge of the rim looks like a hit, if I'm not mistaken.

I'll pull the coin out again and look. I hate talking stuff I don't know, this coin looks all kinds of wrong when looking at it. I'm not selling anything even if it's worth anything just have to be getting my affairs in order and don't know what to keep and ditch.

I agree. The first nickel to a hit on the rim area. If it were a die issue, the mark would be raised. It is incuse, so it is coin damage. The 1943 looks like it was dropped flattening the rim a bit on the edge.
