100% fake. The profile even looks like a 1921 it's so bad.
edit to add - and so do the reverse arrow feathers.

Thanks, I don't understand why someone would counterfeit such a common coin - I guess mass production...

Common coins are less scrutinized and get passed along easier. Sure, the profit per "coin" minimal, but it is made up with volume. Sad, really.

That's exactly why they do it. No one would expect such a common coin to be a counterfeit.

You were smart to come here and ask for help. If you do some searching on CCF, there is a lot of information about fakes that will help you become good at seeing them for yourself. Also, don't get rid of this one either. Use it as a great in-hand teaching tool for yourself. Refer back to it when looking over some of the markers you read about here about how to tell a fake. Following is a link for a fake Morgan and also for a fake Washington quarter. Some of the characteristics found on these can be found on other fakes as well. Morgan: http://goccf.com/t/119357 Washington quarter: http://goccf.com/t/136142Edited to add: I just did a quick random check on your listings. I chose your 1923 Peace dollar - the pic really makes it look like a fake as well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1923-Peace...AOSwZ11aWCAfIf you got these form the same source, I would check out the others also. It would help if you had pics from straight on top if possible. Its easier to see a fake in a pic where the coin is not slanted.

Unfortunate but true. I'm just glad it's such a terrible fake.

This is actually an interesting forgery - I'm thinking it's likely not Chinese, they've become more competent than this. As pointed out above, there're a lot of horrible lapses. In addition to what's already been mentioned, I note that "LIBERTY" is incomplete. On a genuine coin, that'd be among the very last things to disappear from wear. Also the lack of dentils near "OF" on the reverse is a red flag.
I wonder what this weighs.

Quote: I don't understand why someone would counterfeit such a common coin - I guess mass production. Cost to make fifty cents, sell evenat melt mixed in with other genuine piece = 2500% profit Even if they just wholesale them at two or three dollars each, like you said mass production and they move thousands of them. I't is actually quite profitable for them. Quote: This is actually an interesting forgery - I'm thinking it's likely not Chinese, they've become more competent than this. They are NOW, they were laughable when they started mass producing them ten to fifteen years ago, and all those bad fakes are still out there and they will keep popping up.
