Very nice find and congratulations! That's a very nice Die Crack! That "ghosting" is Split Plate Doubling, from the thin Copper plating splitting during the strike. http://www.error-ref.com/split-peeling-plating/

That's a really nice Spike Head!

I don't think there is split-plate doubling because I don't see any split plating.

It looks like Die Deterioration to me.

The plating is definitely not split. The ghosting follows around hair down to tip of nose. No where else on the coin. Was thinking DD myself.

Thanks guys. Got another I need to get pics of. Crack after WE all the way down & out of chin. Has some damage on Abe's face so it's hard to see well.
