Beautiful! Both of them.
I've wondered why we don't see more Italian coins out here in the 17th century. Saint Antoninus is a patron saint of Piacenza. According to Christian tradition, he was martyred there in the persecution of Diocletian in 303 A.D.

The die state on my coin is quite late (nearly terminal on the obverse) compared to t360's. I would prefer to own a nicer example but thalers of Sigismund III Vasa are scarce and even the more common types, like this one, command a pretty penny. |

Here are three different coins from Poland 1627. 1. 6 Grossus / szóstak 2. Grossus / grosz (Danzig) 3. 1.5 grossus / 1/24 Thaler / poltorak I see the relative size between these photos are not quite right...    Edited by giljan

A nice detail on this small copper piece (the 16-18th century cent in the Netherlands) is the coat of arms of the province of Overijssel: the Dutch lion wading in the IJssel river, the line suggesting that the river is not very deep. Indeed the IJssel is a short and moderate stream compared to the Maas or the Rhine rivers. The coat-of-arms of the seven provinces on coins of the Dutch republic are like the letter system of the French coins we have seen over the past months in this thread.
