Hey all!
I'm new to the game but have been "collecting" my whole life. I recently came across a bunch of 1964 Kennedy's along with a few 1965-1969's. I've been trying to do my research on these coins but am having a hard time differentiating any possible special coins from my bunch. Any links that you guys use or suggestions? I know I need to get sleeves and gloves. Unfortunately, my collection is sitting loose right now.
Any help is much appreciated! I can also send or post pictures of my coins if requested.

@cody, we love pics so maybe post a couple of the ones that seem to be in the best condition. There maybe something there worth more than the melt value of the silver.

A few points to note are these circulated, a collection, or someone's stash? 1964 has three issued coins and a couple varieties. The P and D business strike and a proof w/o Mintmarks... tell by surface. There is a variety called "accented hair" on the 64. The 65-67 have two issues, the business strike both w/o Mintmarks from both Philly and Denver and an SMS(special mint set) made in SF. Those only recognized by surfaces. The 68-70 have a P or D on business strike and S on Proof.

The 64's are 90% silver, the 65-70 are 40% silver... the rest are clad, unless they came from silver proof sets. In 1976, they had special sets that were 40% silver also. Mine are in Dansco Albums... lets you look at them, but keeps them safe. Doubles I keep in airtites.

Thank you for all of the feedback!
I've been searching for forums to join the past few weeks and I have to say from what I've read that you all are the most helpful and knowledgeable.
I'll get some good cropped pictures posted later today and maybe y'all can help me get an idea for grading.
Cheers, Cody

Like you, I like the Kennedy halves. For one of the most comprehensive list of errors w/ pictures, check out http://www.varietyvista.comYou will find there are many, what I term, micro-doubled dies om that site which I tend to ignore since I need a microscope to see them. Here is a regular issue Kennedy half cheat sheet I used when roll searching. The list summarizes info from many different web sites and some books. Although the list does include mention of the Type I and Type I designer initial varieties, almost all proofs and silver varieties are NOT on the page. Those varieties can be found at the provided link.
