$$ **Look for more pictures in the comments **$$ This is very obvious, and I think I am getting a lot better at spotting these doubled dies. So if you having trouble, keep researching doubled die's and you will soon get the picture.. The way I spotted this one, actually I wasnt looking for doubled dies, but I always look at an 89 to see if there is reverse of a 1988, if I could ever get that lucky! Why? Well just recently I just learned about the 1992 Denver Close AM, supposedly found in a take a penny leave a penny. Now, I am having a lot of troubles finding the match for this one, and Wexler only has one doubled die listed for reverse of this year and mint mark (in this area, so why not make a new listing? Unless the die state has absolutely diminished the rest of the visible doubled devices to the point of not being able to see it anymore, this one is a new listing for wexler at least.. My question, does he charge for New listings? Edited by Coppergold 07/07/2018 7:35 pm

As far as I know, there is no 89 with a 88 reverse. Not sure about your FG. John1

I know thee are no reverse of a 1988 on an 1989 discovered, but you never know.
And the way you see this doubled die is look at the bottom of the F, how it's slants and the cross bar of the G is slants too.

I think you are right! I think I over looked it cause that one looks a little banged up on the FG on CCs. But the doubling on cent looks the same too. The only thing you can really see the doubling in, is the FG to be honest. Its not split looking like the one on wexlers.. lol
Thanks John :)

It does look doubled but I'd like to see more pics of the letters in AMERICA, it should also show slight notching (mostly on the R and the second A) if it is a doubled die.

That's stinks Bate. At least now you know to look for these though. We've all made mistakes. Nobody is perfect.

I agree the doubling looks right. The best way to confirm if you're right is if you compare the mintmark location. 1DR-003 has a very unusual mintmark location, if you coin has that, it has to be 1DR-003.

Looks normal from what I can see. The top of the FG on the G looks like it took a hit. The FG looks wider, but it might be a Struck Through Grease issue. What is enlarged?
