What are you seeing? Looks like a line through the letter M, probably a die crack.

What you are seeing on the IB area of LIBERTY is called Die Deterioration. The die is showing its age and the devices low towards the rim area.

As the die wear, the fields next to the devices show disturbance. To the right on the date, to the left on LIBERTY and on the tops of the motto. Why? Because they flow in the direction of the closest rim. Just part of die aging. No premium for that.

Thanks for the help... also the dark spot above the date is a "dip" and the top right of the M in AMERICA seems to be a "nick" maybe from circulation?

It's Die Deterioration, caused by a worn die.
