Fraud topics can sometimes get a bit heated

Quote:
I think it is perfectly fine for someone to buy something and sell it elsewhere to make a buck.

It IS fine. The issue that HABIB was discussing is that he was blatantly misrepresenting the coins he is reselling to turn a profit.

Legally he has done nothing wrong. Ethically....well lets just say he has a special place waiting for him

This may have already been said...you've done some great research, but I would be wary of giving the seller reason to make it personal. If the guy is some kind of crook, you never know how far he might take things.

mycrob, I'm sorry, I based my comments to you on the notion that you had been able to investigate the facts of the matter prior to posting your comments about it. My mistake entirely.

Shadowcreator,
You have made the correct point, forum members are aware.
I would keep the coin if you LIKE the coin,if not return it and just move on. The ebay seller is not worth the time and effort!
Rest in Peace

The cleaning, if present, on one of the coins I got is very subtle, so I wouldn't say I got screwed. Same with the slabbed coin. The transaction with the 1834 Half Cent is pretty much already canceled.

I don't trust this guy further than I can throw him, so I want the money back before I send the coins. I also want the money for shipping, but I don't see what's wrong with a few extra bucks for WASTING MY TIME. Seriously, this guy has wasted at least a few hours of my time. It does sound like blackmail though, but I'm not realllly aiming for that.

Although your time is priceless, it is unfortunately not valuable (as in value-able). Also, no seller should be expected to refund anything unless and until it has been shipped back. Just send it with confirmation (at least) so there can be no dispute about whether or not it arrived. It is beginning to sound like blackmail--you need to be better than this guy, so don't sink to his level.

I think the ebay seller should ask for a refund from the people that developed his spellcheck program, if anything.
Rest in Peace

He was a jerk when he replied to your first e-mail and he just got worse as he kept on replying to your e-mails. While he prides himself that he sells coins with no reserves and he offers 100% return he seems to spend a lot of time ranting and complaining to you about your buying habits. He should have just said "I have a 100% return if your unhappy with the coin". Good detective work.

He has poor people skills, which seems to apply to coin dealers in general. I know this is a bit of a rant, but I'm quite tired of dealing with guys who think I should act according to a pre-conceived scenario...it's almost as bad as people who sold Amway junk, LOL.
Ok...rant off, sorry--I just visited a shop today.

This member(ShadowCreator) has been reported to ebay and police authorities for extortion(his emails boldly demand money or he will leave negative feedback)All items of accused seller are clearly photographed and grading is 100% subjective furthermore this seller offers no question 7-day return on all items and has 100% positive feedback by over 1200 unique buyers..no one is forced to bid on an item they can look at pictures and decide for themselves if they want the item and if they don't like the item when they have a chance to look at in their own home at their leisure they can return it with no questions asked ..the shadow creator loved the items he bot until he found out that that a small profit was made on them he was also told by the accused seller that he routinely cracks out of holders coin he feels were not properly graded in fact the accused seller sent shadowcreator scans of a raw ebay listed coin he inquired about in its former anacs holder..this is why the grading services are still doing more business than ever because everyone has a different opinion on a coins grade ..he is a very bitter and disgruntled person and should consider taking-up another hobby.
I will post again after results of ebay and police investigations
