Go buy a Big Mac on Aug 2nd, and you can get a MacCoin, worth one Big Mac: Quote:
[Chicago, Illinois] [July 29, 2018] — To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Big Mac, McDonald's unveiled the MacCoin, a limited edition global currency* backed by the internationally iconic Big Mac that fans across the world can get their hands on starting August 2 to share, collect or redeem. Despite its name, the MacCoin is technically a medal. Beginning at lunchtime on August 2, customers can receive a MacCoin with the purchase of a Big Mac at 14,000 participating restaurants across the U.S., while supplies last. This is pretty interesting. It's a gimmick but it's still an interesting concept since there really aren't too many other consumer goods that are the same across so many countries. Thanks for posting the article.

I wonder if they redistribute them once redeemed. We may have to collect a circulated set as well...

Curse you McDonalds making me want to buy a big mac while on my diet(even then, I don't care for the Mac sandwiches, more a Quarter Pounder man myself). Still interesting and will be cool to have!
