I wanted to add this less magnified photo...I have never seen a die flow pattern like this. Is this unusual?

I altered your title a little. You had LMC, but that indicates a Lincoln Memorial cent produced 1959-2008. The notation is LSC - Lincoln Shield cent.

That would be called Die Deterioration, caused by a worn die. The die was in a Late Die State, when it struck your coin.

It is called die flow. Shen the metal is moved around on a die hundreds of thousands of times, these flow lines slowly develops as the die wears.

Note on this image how the die ages:

Just die flow on fields, nothing really that special.

To be more specific, it's die flow lines and Die Deterioration from a old aging die that was ready for retirement soon.
