That is no error or variety. Just a standard cent produced in 1943. This thread didn't belong in the US Modern Coin Variety and Error section.

I have moved your post back to the variety and error section since you have pointed out what could be a possible error. It was not obvious to me, sorry.

Nice find Bate! It might have been Struck Through Grease possibly. I'll miss you Bate. I'm sad to see you go. I hope you've learned a lot from me and everyone else, while you've been with us. Take care, and I hope life goes good for you.

A nice pick-up. I'm on the fence about whether the LI is damaged or partially Struck Through Grease. Hope you stick around @bate--it has been fun seeing you progress with your collection.

To me it looks like vending machine damage. The coin looks like it was reprocessed. Making the zinc layer even thicker. Circulation wears of the higher points. If it were a Struck Through Grease error, the devices would not have formed, ow would be wider on the affected devices. PSD

Agree this is damage and not a grease effect. Maybe Bate will change his mind.

See what all this chicken guano of having to correct each and every mis-spelled word or mis-stated phraseology or even putting a post in the wrong section does folks, especially all you forum gods? People, those who this forum is meant to help grow and flourish, are squashed once again. Restrictive attitudes and a pious corrective attitude in any matter sucks and are discouraging, ya ever been a parent? If so, woulda hated to be your kids. Now you drove another away, as Hancock would say, "Good Job!"

Hey Bate, no need to leave this forum because of that. You were one of the new collectors who was learning from this forum and actually listened to our thoughts without getting upset like many others. So stick around, you will not regret it.

Quote: If so, woulda hated to be your kids. Now you drove another away, as Hancock would say, "Good Job!" Any idea how many you've driven away? Dozens alone with your sucker gif. New members see it and think you're calling them a sucker (why wouldn't they, they post a counterfeit coin they got and that's what you post) and never come back. I've gotten PLENTY of emails about it, from people that leave and don't leave. I emailed you several times about it and I've never gotten a reply. You haven't noticed that they disappear? You actually replied to a subscription notice a few weeks thinking it was an email from Tootalicious so it came to me, it was insulting my manhood and saying you enjoy being the forum "pain is the as s" with an exclamation point. (Screenshots available) If that truly makes you happy, congratulations, you've been on that list for quite some time. Pushing the envelope at least once a week may be fun for you, but it's not for us. An honest mistake because of bad pics and NO mention of there being an error or variety on the coin... just "Look at my first steel cent." Boy, over reaction at it's worst right here. Topics get posted in the wrong forum a dozen times a day and this is the first time anyone threatened to take their coins and go home over it.
