Quote: 70s have NOTHING to do with top pop moderns, you're conflicting two VERY different aspects. You are introducing ideas again - I never mentioned any of this. Quote: Only internet forums think it's like that. There is much more consistency than random grades coming back I never mentioned "random grades." Yet another non-mentioned idea being introduced. My summary en toto: 1. Grading subjectivity => no guarantees of exact grade repetition per specific coin => variability => artificial values assigned to the "packet" of slab/label/coin based on the system - not the coin. 2. TPG marketing companies has a great idea for growing the business and increasing values b/c people will pay more to get the "best." Hoc finis est

Earle ... sometimes it does no god to post your opinion.
Some people are so wrapped up in their own opinion, they fail to see others.
I often wonder why some bring negativity to other members posts.
Just a suggestion, start their own post and argue their points.

I often wonder why some bring negativity to other members posts. Some of us want people to be educated and have the facts. But if you want to go with the lemmings off a cliff method my patience is wearing thin enough you will probably win and mislead people and get fooled by more fakes like you admitted your shop was.

I did not admit to anything about the shop selling fakes. I posted when we found them we took them to be melted. I didn't post we sent coins in because we thought they were submission worthy, those were all your words. We would send coins in to be authenticated. Some of the points you post I agree with, some you fail to see where your logic is flawed. Or you fail to see what the other member are trying to say. You do seem to have a love affair with some TPG's, not all collectors are going to agree with or have the same views about TPG's. Neither is right or wrong.

Yes some people want to fight that but they have lost that battle by far, I don't want them to mislead people reading but everyone can do what they want as long as they know all the facts and risks thats all

What Earle is saying is perfectly valid. A coin cracked out of a MS-70 slab can definitely have the possibility to come back as a MS-69.
Please explain to me how this isn't true.

I have made more money buying raw coins then sending them in to be graded, then most collectors that buy only slabbed coins and waiting for them to go up in value.
There are fake coins raw and in slabs. The best thing a collector can do is to learn how to identify the coins they are buying.
This is really fruitless ... I am not here to argue ... I am wondering if that is what you are really here for.

Quote: BTW business strike 70s don't exist Incorrect. They do actually exist, but only one graded example exists though. It's a 2003 P LMC that's in MS-70. Look here. Enjoy the reading. I know it's an old article from 2006, but it's still a very good and important article. https://www.PCGS.com/news/PCGS-cert...-strike-cent

Conder101, that's pretty sad actually. What a shame though, as it actually was at one time MS-70. It was one heck of a very beautiful Business Strike coin! I doubt they'll find a perfect Business Strike like that ever again.

Quote: Earle ... sometimes it does no good to post your opinion. Honesty demands I respond truthfully. When replies come back with devices such as the following: assumption of motive, using baseless superlatives, ad hominem replies, focus on minutiae to redirect thought away from the issue, redirecting focus by making baseless universal statements like "well everyone...," or "that will never happen...," and/or other emotionally based concepts, those replies aid newbies and others readers to have a much more clear view of the reality surrounding the subject. Also, the greater the number of those non legitimate (to debate) type of responses in a thread, the easier it is for the newbie/learner to find verifiable reality. The many replies of this nature (on this forum and another) sent up red flags for me when I got back into the hobby and started to research this topic. Teaching is in my genetic code (as is learning).
