I am just sickened by all these new coin programs weather they be dollars or quarters. Our legislators will never get it. I did like this from the article though! "Tucker also objected to continuing to place the date, Mint mark and E PLURIBUS UNUM incuse on the coin's edge, arguing that collectors want to see the date and Mint mark return to the denomination's obverse as part of the overall design." https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...designs.html

"The 14-year program calls for an annual release of four dollar coins. The series authorizes one coin each for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories — Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands and Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands."
Am I reading something wrong here? Why would they do this AGAIN after it was done with quarters? Also I think the modern dollar coins are ugly. They look like Chuck E. Cheese tokens. For some reason, "$1" instead of "One Dollar" feels very amateur and cartoonish to me.

Man, some of the designs looks pretty bad.
Errers and Varietys.

Very uninspiring idea. I don't like the Statue of Liberty as the obverse of any coin. I would say people will confuse it with the reverse of the Presidential dollar but since no one will see the coins, that won't happen.

Thats literally the worst tripe I've ever seen come out of the US mint in modern history, the Garden State Parkway Authority had more eye pleasing designs than that lol

Horrendously uninspired designs. Might as well just put a big $1 on both sides at that point!
I hope they go back to the drawing board on this one.

Honestly, I think some of the rejected reverse designs are better than the accepted obverse design. A stock image of the Statue of Liberty? How much more unoriginal and lazy can you get as a designer? That was actually my only problem with the Presidential dollars design wise. I'm willing to be a little more lenient about the obverse of the Presidential dollars, because when you're doing portraits of historical figures, there's only so many ways it could be done. Liberty, as an allegorical figure, can be done in any form the artist pleases, and they decided to take the lazy way out on this one and the Presidential dollars.
