What is up with the multiple indented Lincoln's and reverse lettering?

to CCF. Looks like a vise job, where you put three coins together and then squeeze them in a bench vise. Give it a bit for more members to chime in.

Cool. I was wondering if it got stuck between two other coins in minting, but a vise makes sense.

to the forum. Vise job and they didn't even rotate one so Lincoln would be upside down.

It's Post Strike Damage unfortunately (it happened after it left the U.S. Mint).
Errers and Varietys.
Rest in Peace

It's a heat transferred image. The coins were still so hot from the minting process when they put them in a sealed roll it semi-melted the reverse image into the coin on top of it.

...maybe?....

Pretty sure it's just a vise job. I don't think the Mint rolls coins immediately after striking them.

Tanner, I have a part of a bridge in NYC for sale, want it? My seaside property in Utah is a long-term investment!

Whoops, I'm not doing well with sarcasm today.

I didn't see the 'maybe' and the clown until just now, without seeing that it looks like you were serious.

Yep, pays for everybody/anybody to read EVERYTHING and digest the info - just partial reading then jumping to conclusions with limited information causes things like that to happen. Or reading what the post before states and parroting it. Absolutely No reference to you Tanman, It's just I have seen the parroting thing from other members cause some problems the last few days.

So you're looking for a problem where there isn't one! You just want to start a problem.
