This guy has put this coin up for sale on the Bay 4 times now. https://www.ebay.com/sch/casedcoins...046732.m1684He had it as an auction and apparently he is not getting what he wants. The first auction sold for $2,050 with 28 bids. The second time it sold for $1,805.66 with 13 bids and the third time for $1,726 with 14 bids.He has re-listed it for the fourth time and starting it at $.99 again. What am I missing here? Why not start the auction at what he wants for it?

People sometimes cant accept that their coins arent as valuable as they want them to be. I personally would have been incredibly happy with the 2000 selling price, even after the 20% fee youre still getting out at right around bid. I have no idea where hes getting that 2500 value from
Of course it is possible he got screwed over by buyers who wouldnt pay for the coin, but I find it unlikely for that to happen 3 times in a row. However I dont have any experience in either selling coins at auction or selling high value coins.

His "shill bidders" aren't doing their jobs!

My question is, where are the negative feedback comments for the seller never sending the coin?

One of the popup ads below the link shows a slabbed PCGS VF25 1855S for $100+9 shipped... That is as Mark pointed out, shills. That to be rates about as high as knowingly selling a faker. Should be stopped/removed from ewwboy.

Crazyb0, The popup add below is his auction. It's his 4th auction that has 3 bids at $100.00 now and $9 shipping. These auctions have all been in the last week or two, they only last for 24hrs.

People jump to the shill conclusion way to quickly. Only he knows what really has happened, it could very easily have been a buyer issue that hurt at least some of the sales and then maybe a canceled sale from a low price or something like that.
He would be better off using a BIN listing and realistically probably better off getting someone else to sell it for him at that value

Didn't realise we weren't allowed to do that - People are allowed to jump to whatever conclusions they want, doesn't mean there's any truth to it though. Anytime ebay auctions come up it's basically automatic that someone is going to say shill, yet in this case it was three different bidders with no significant history. Whether or not buyer problems happened we don't know, but my point was that people jump to the shill angle way to fast.

The listing says "Payment must be made within 24hrs or I will relist" near the bottom, so maybe he does have problems with the winners paying on time. Quote: I have no idea where hes getting that 2500 value from From the PCGS certification page: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/35707262

I did a little digging and found the same exact coin sold from a different seller a month ago, the bidders are private but this winning bid has the same amount of feedback as the person whos currently trying to sell the coin... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1855-S-ARR...43663.l44720Quote:From the PCGS certification page: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/35707262 He couldnt possibly expect a retail price guide to have an influence on the bidding, putting price guide values in the title on a coin like this is honestly a deterrent for me. I think the vast majority of people who are even considering buying coins of this value will either have a greysheet subscription or know how to look up past auctions on ebay, which considering how many times hes sold and relisted it put enough history on this particular coin in this particular grade that it's going to be tough to even reach 2k again, let alone get anywhere close to that "price guide" value.

I have a brilliant idea. Let's ask him. Someone send the guy a polite, well-written question and ask him what's going on with the coin and see if his response is feasible. I've done this before with mixed results. Some responses make sense while others, they just,.... yeah.
Who wants to volunteer?

Message sent - I'll let ya know what happens......
{New message to: casedcoins Hello, was wondering if this is the same coin you have repeatedly sold and then relisted? Before I bid I was wondering if this is a stock photo or has all previous transactions fallen through and never were completed? Thanks you,
Mark}

Well he's doing better this time, it's up over $2K, not as high as the first time yet but he may get there.

Looks like the same bidder y***m is giving it a second try, currently $300 higher than their last winning bid. 95% bidding activity with seller, and 23 bid retractions. That does smell of shill.
