Just when I think I've seen the most impressive tiny Greek coins!

This one was also in that CNG lot; lots more goodies than it looked like in the photos!

Troas, Kebren (Cebren)
AR Hemitetartemorion, 5mm 0.09g
c. 5th century BC
Obv: Male head (Apollo?) right
Rev: Ram's head right

It's a shame the ram is so far off center, but it is nevertheless an impressively engraved coin! Not only were they able to engrave anything at all on a 5mm die (supposedly without magnification!), but the coin is struck in deep relief!

Had to have really good eyesight and a steady hand to engrave something so small. Neat coin.
