In a full-page ad in the sunday Columbus Disgrace, "World Reserve Monetary Exchange" is peddling grossly overpriced dollar coins which should be available at any bank for face value. Their deal is $124 "vault release fee" +shipping for two rolls in one plastic tube, plus a FREE coin. They come in a fancy gold foil box called "heavy vault bricks" (425 net grams, about 15 ounces). "They are so heavy they feel like solid bars of .999 pure gold. So be careful, you may need both hands to pick them up." Conventional bars of gold in real vaults weigh 400 ounces, not 15. And if you need both hands to pick up a one pound box, I suggest you spend your money on vitamins, not throw it away on coins. If you don't happen to have a copy of the paper handy, you can also get messed up at their website. If you don't have the claim authorization, you pay $142, tho. If you're into paying $73 + shipping for a cardbod box and a bunch of coins which will in all likelihood never be worth more than face value, have at. After all someone has to pay for an ad that prolly costs $10,000+. Better hurry, the main page of the website says only 4553 days,11 hours, 42 minutes and change left out of the 48/72 hour ordering period. website link removed by forum moderator

these guys have been running these ads since the first Washington Dollar was available to buy from the banks and each time they are a full page full color ad with it showing armed guards carrying these cardboard gold bars in on hand trucks into the vault. I don't know how many of these "Ballistic" rolls they are selling but it must be quite a few for them to still be shelling out the money for these ads

FACE CREAM + BIRD POOP.........Ahhh Capitolism and free enterprise at it's most obvious glory !!......really something to see aint it folks !

I think we already do a good job of it here on CCF. I am glad a lot of people (members and lurkers) have been coming here to ask the questions before they make a mistake! And now, something for Google and the other web-crawlers: "how to avoid buying worthless coins"

I'm more concerned that when the buyer goes to sell his 500% profit investment in ten yars, he's going to find that any value is reduced by having a non-standard roll.
Then it will all be blamed on the ripoff coin dealer, instead of the ripoff promoter who was prolly selling Ginzu knives last week.

Friday morning I'll be selling shares in the Brooklyn Bridge. I'll begin "the sale" right here on CCF if anybody's interested ! The bargain price of $350.00 a share is a "steal" for anyone ! P.S. BiggFredd...... What's wrong with the Ginzu knives?.....those things work grrrreat !...

Wow! That sounds like a deal to me! I'll order three and put it next to my Mighty Putty and all the other stuff Billy Mays sold me!
But seriously, if anyone ever buy one of those, they would be wasting $125.

No different than those 2 guys on Coin Country. I can't believe what they ask for some of those coins. It's kind of funny to listen to how they describe the coins. Good entertainment.

These ads are a joke, but they must be selling to some people because I've seen them advertising since the release of the Presidential dollars. I love how they go on to mention that these coins make a great investment and they use the example of how "if a person had saved two rolls of 1973 Ikes they would now be worth more than $6,000 today." However, the 1973 Ike has a very low mintage of roughly 2 million coins per mint produced and was only released in mint and proof sets. To compare, the mintage of the Presidential dollar has been roughly 300 million units per coin released. These coins will never be worth more than face, except for the error coins. As for the 1973 Ike, after going through 1,500 Ikes, I have luckily found 2 from this date. These ads are a total con and I feel it is most likely older people who are getting ripped off, probably wanting to purchase something nice for their grandchildren.

Case in point, I had a call from a guy wanting to sell his "collection" of bullion silver eagles in MS69. Numismedia retail $1800, he had $2500 in them, and it wasn't because he bought at the silver peak.

It's really a shame. Older people mostly will "invest," and then find out later how they wasted their money.
I've seen the same ads, and believe me they cost thousands. So, no doubt the company is making plenty of money.
