Interesting dime, HumblePie. I assume the damage to the mint mark was caused by the die?

Here's my first ASE that I purchased off of ebay. It's a 2022 W ASE. I will post pictures, once it arrives in the mail. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203691527262

I was looking to pick up a nice 1892-S Barber dime at the coin show I went to last week, but couldn't find one. And, unfortunately, I blew through almost my entire budget anyway, so I couldn't have afforded to buy one in nice condition (MS63-64) even if I found one, since they run around $800-1000.

And so, just because I at least wanted an example of a first year Barber dime even if it's not a "key date" because of the mint mark, I went ahead and got a regular 1892 example in MS64 on ebay for $250 to tide me over until next year:

[The coin is actually much shinier and silver-colored in hand, but it's too small for me to get a decent picture of with my current set up.]

That doesn't look bad. I'd have to say high AU/low MS on that bad boy?

Calzone: Seller described it this way:

"This is a pleasing coin that shows some Obverse gun metal blue toning. Good eye appeal. Coin shows well with just light abrasions. Still retains underlying cartwheel Lustre. Never cleaned and the toning is original . Your satisfaction is assured."

I'm pleased with it.

You get Barber (obv) and Morgan (rev) engravings in one coin. . .such a deal. Wanted my Commem collection to have the first US classic commemorative
