So here's the other quarter I mentioned in my post about the Shenandoah P.

Here's something I should clarify. Like I said I'm a newbie but I've done some reading and LOTS of Youtube viewing the past few weeks (neglecting lots of stuff including my fish--my main hobby). Somehow I never came across anyone talking about there being multiple causes for doubling, let alone that any kind can be totally worthless. One of the main Youtube channels I've been watching is JBCoins (I'll take a wild guess that at least some of ya'll are familiar with him and his 'Camera Girl's' videos). He seems a strong advocate for keeping an eye out for yet-unreported errors in newer coin issues. He even has some videos where he discovers some in real time, in brand new rolls of coins.

I could be mistaken but I don't recall him ever saying "and I know this isn't just DDD because here you can see....." but maybe he just shows them with the assumption that his audience is familiar enough to know the difference. I sure didn't; until last night I didn't even know there were different kinds of doubling. So now maybe you can see why I was so excited and then so disappointed. I not only thought I might have a valuable coin but might be the first person to identify an error everyone could look for in Shenandoah P's. I wasn't jut rubbing my hands together seeing dollar signs; I thought I might have something to be proud of and contributing to a community.

So anyway, without further ado, here's my Effigy Mounts P. My skin is now thicker than last night, and I've got a load of laundry waiting for this quarter if that's all it's good for. But please for the sake of education tell me the exact why/how/what to observe reasons if this coin is worthless.

This is a slightly misaligned die. Happens fairly often on modern coins. I see them in change relatively commonly and never bother to keep them.

As a misaligned die,MAD part of the design has to be missing for it to be collectible. I think I see part of a Rim Fin. The planchet may have been tilted a bit. What do the reeds look like?

That is caused by a Misaligned Die. (MAD) When the coin is struck, one die is misaligned causing one side to appear slightly off center. The extra metal on the edge looks like a double rim. (Called a Rim Fin) The plachet could have been tlted as well. Could you get an image of the edge reeding?

Looks more like a Rim Fin on the reverse. (very slight tilted die issue) When they are flattened, they are just a circulation coin.

Here's the best I could do about the reeding, for some reason my camera just had the worst time focusing on it.
I don't know if the rim is special or not but I like George's extra forehead lock more than anything.
