Now that I am learning about low pressure strikes, here is one I am unsure of. Seems like much of the rim is missing so there is that, but it has full reeding which I thought these were not supposed to have. Then there is that odd bit with a squiggle on each side of the coin by the IGWT and date. Asking for some help! 197X Roosevelt dime with missing details.

I am unable to give you an answer, but I like your coin, and I am very interested to see what the experts say about it. I might believe that it was struck on a wrong planchette. (But that is entirely a guess - from a non-expert)

Just a guess.
Possibly a test strike during a press setup. At the start of a shift OR during a change of dies. Checking for the correct pressure?

If diameter is normal, then Weak Strike seems likely. I like error-ref description. http://www.error-ref.com/weak_strik...rampressure/Quote: Seems like much of the rim is missing so there is that, but it has full reeding which I thought these were not supposed to have. The material has to make contact with the collar first, which aids the backfill of the rim and outer or remaining devices. Thanks, Doug.

I think that It's a Low Pressure Strike.

I sent Mike Diamond an email. It kind of looks like a very heavy grease strike. I see texture in the weakness. It seems to strong to be a low pressure strike to me.

It's a weak (low-pressure) strike. The strongly convex die face of dimes of this period generally produces a poorly-struck perimeter, even if many central details are well-struck. Here, Roosevelt's hair and the corresponding area on the reverse, also didn't strike up.
