How to tell the difference?
Die Deterioration happens on dies when they age. The devices start moving closer to the rim area. (on yours it is already there).

Struck Through Grease make the devices look wider and flatter and shorter in height. What causes this. Of course, grease. But the devices are tapered so the will release from the die. When grease fills these incuse areas on the die, the die is prevented from making a taller tapered device.

The grease prevents the striking up of the device and pushes the metal into an other area of the coin. So the devices will appear wider and shorter in height. Hope this helps.
