I have a 98 silver looking penny I would like to know what the worth would be and it's not an AM so I know that narrows it down a little

If you have a 98 silver Cent, it probably has been plated
so it would only be worth 1 Cent.
If you could provide pictures and the weight, then we could
see if it is possibly something else.

@LO, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that pics will help us tell you what you have. In addition to being plated, it is also possible that the copper plating was stripped off, leaving just the zinc core. We will need to see more to know for sure.

I agree, most likely the cent has just been plated. Pictures and its weight would help.

Here is the tutorial about uploading and posting images

And here is the CCF Free Image Optimizer to help crop your images.
And please preview your post/pictures to be sure the images are rotated correctly.
