I'm selling this coin and would like your opinions on a grade.

Thanks.

1sikevo,

Ya gotta love any 'CC' morgan. They are known for some remarkable strikes and deep mirrored fields. This coin has a strong strike and despite some bag marks, it's a solid 63. If you compared it to some of the 'O' mintmark coins of that decade, it would grade a 65 or higher.

Beautiful dollar, as are most MS Morgans from Carson City.

I'm with Dave (not Super) on this; solid MS-63. It could go a point higher if the fine hairlines and scuffs on the cheek are exaggerated by the photo. As we have seen, such marks are often highlighted in the pictures, making the coin look worse than it really is.

These seem to sell in the $225-$250 range for certified MS-64 examples. Unless this is a scarce VAM, I expect you should ask $300 but be willing to take $250 or a tad less. Just my opinion, of course; you'll have to set your own rock-bottom price!

my first impression was MS-62 but I could see where it may be a 63 as others have said because I tend to be pretty harsh on Morgans for some reason which is usually a good thing when they come back a grade or two higher than I was expecting from the TPG's
