I caught this on the internet. It happened in 2015. $5,136 worth of pennies - that's 513,600 pennies! collected since 1970. And this man turned them in to a bank at face value!
I would have loved to play with THAT pile.

Heard a news story a few years back of a guy so furious with his local tax collector that he paid with a 15 gallon drum of them. And yes, even though at first they would not except them, someone had the task of counting and providing a receipt. Maybe I'll try it myself.

That's an average of 31 pennies every day for 45 years. I can't imagine getting all of that in change
